Overview

Manage your SmartAlex subscription, view invoices, and add prepaid credits through the Billing page.

Subscription

Current Plan

View your active subscription:
  • Plan name and tier
  • Monthly price
  • Included features
  • Renewal date

Changing Plans

Upgrade or downgrade your subscription:

Go to Billing

Navigate to AccountBilling

Click Change Plan

View available plans and compare features.

Select New Plan

Choose your desired plan.

Confirm Change

  • Upgrades: Take effect immediately, prorated for current period
  • Downgrades: Take effect at next billing date

Cancellation

To cancel your subscription:
  1. Go to BillingCancel Subscription
  2. Complete the cancellation survey
  3. Confirm cancellation
When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. You won’t be charged again, and you can continue using SmartAlex until then.

Payment Methods

Adding a Card

  1. Go to BillingPayment Methods
  2. Click Add Payment Method
  3. Enter card details
  4. Click Save
Accepted cards:
  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Discover

Default Payment Method

Your default payment method is used for:
  • Monthly subscription charges
  • Automatic wallet top-ups
  • Overage charges
To change default:
  1. Go to Payment Methods
  2. Click the menu on the card you want as default
  3. Select Make Default

Removing a Card

You cannot remove your only payment method while you have an active subscription. Add a new card first, then remove the old one.

Invoices

Viewing Invoices

Access all invoices from BillingInvoices:
  • Invoice date
  • Amount charged
  • Payment status
  • Download PDF

Invoice Details

Each invoice includes:
  • Subscription charges
  • Usage charges (overage)
  • Wallet top-ups
  • Phone number fees
  • Taxes (if applicable)

Receipts

Payment receipts are automatically emailed to your account email. Download past receipts from the invoice detail page.

Wallet

The Wallet is a prepaid credit system for usage beyond your plan’s included minutes.

How It Works

  1. Add credits to your wallet
  2. Usage charges are deducted automatically
  3. Low balance alerts notify you when to top up

Adding Credits

Go to Wallet

Navigate to AccountWallet

Select Amount

Choose a preset amount or enter custom:
  • $25
  • $50
  • $100
  • Custom amount (minimum $10)

Complete Payment

Use your default payment method or add a new card.
Credits are added immediately and never expire.

Auto Top-Up

Enable automatic top-ups to never run out of credits:

Usage is measured in calling minutes:

Overage

When you exceed included minutes:
  1. Charges are deducted from your wallet
  2. If wallet is empty, charges are billed to your card

  • Cost breakdown by call type

Billing FAQ

Your subscription renews monthly on the anniversary of your signup date. Usage overage and wallet charges may occur anytime during the month.
Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. Wallet credits can be refunded within 30 days if unused. Contact support for refund requests.
Invoices are sent to your account email. Update your email in Account Settings to change where invoices are sent.
Yes. SmartAlex uses Stripe for payment processing. We never store your full card number - only a secure token.
