## 2026-05-15, v1.1

**Native extension mode + self-serve connect flow + per-number diagnostics.**

* **Native Extension Mode (register direction)** shipped as a first-class connection shape. SmartAlex registers itself as a SIP extension on the customer's PBX. INVITEs arrive via the shared registrar trunk; no per-trunk inbound trunk required. See [Native Extension Mode](/telephony/native-extension-mode).
* **Self-serve "Connect PBX Extension"** dialog on the Phone Numbers page. Customers bind a per-tenant extension to a phone number without raising a support ticket. Backs the AI's `transfer_to_pbx` tool with extension matching by name + aliases.
* **PBX extensions directory** added per tenant. Each extension carries a display name and free-form aliases so the AI matches caller phrases ("put me through to the billing queue") to the right SIP URI.
* **Per-number Call Diagnostics panel** on the Phone Numbers page. Click any phone number for: live health check (assignment, registration, credentials), recent call history (last 10 in 24h with friendly-label disconnect reasons), and recent edge function errors (last 5 in 24h).
* **Friendly-label disconnect reasons** in dashboards. Technical codes like `reconciled_never_connected` now render as "Reached us, agent never started". See [Troubleshooting](/telephony/troubleshooting).
* **Cross-tenant guard triggers** on the PBX extensions table prevent any extension from being bound to a SIP trunk or agent from a different tenant.
* **Transfer hardening**: caller ID preservation via P-Asserted-Identity (RFC 3325) confirmed across every PBX integration guide.
